Insomnia

Name of a great movie, and also why I'm not writing today.

Woke up at 1.30, 2.30 and 4.30 and then couldn't get back to sleep. Not really sure why. Sitting here having a crack at the script and can't focus. Could write anyway but I'd just have to junk it all tomorrow. Brain on strike.

So, sorry to disappoint anybody out there, but not working today.

This is something that happens every so often. While it would be nice to be able to sit down and write four pages a day everyday, it isn't always practical.

Sometimes life jumps up, grabs you by the balls and starts to squeeze. When this happens it is good to take a couple of days off in order to fetch a cricket bat and beat life around the head until it lets go and curls back into the foetal position at your feet.

Once life becomes manageable again then you will be able to write again.

Yeah. Thanks. Looking for that cricket bat right now.

If I was up at 2am, unable to sleep, keen to write but not able / willing to focus on the 'main script' I would be writing crazy stuff to look at at another time - nothing to do with the current script but possibly ideas for future project - possible just letting off steamwriting... (perhaps this is why I have so many notebooks of random jottings)
